The George Washington Atlas Project, a collaborative effort with Mount Vernon, is currently assessing George Washington’s Southern Tour. Jessica Gough has been hard at work, analyzing texts for information on his journey. This area of the project has been in process since the beginning of Spring semester.
“I’ve been collecting the facts, details, and description of the locations Washington stopped at on this 1791 tour, as well as the dates he was at these specific locations.” Jessica stated. The goal of this collaboration is to discover where Washington had traveled throughout the United States. This information will be presented at Mount Vernon once all desired components of the project have been submitted by the GIS team.
